Mohan Bhagwat | RSS Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat explains why Shivalingam is sought in all churches

New Delhi: RSS Sarsanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat has questioned why the Shiva lingam is sought in all churches. He said the two sides should find a mutual understanding in the dispute over the Gyanwapi Masjid in Uttar Pradesh. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the RSS’s third year Sangha Shiksha Varg in Nagpur.

Gyanwapi was not created by today’s Muslims or Hindus. The temples were demolished by militants from outside India to demoralize those who wanted the country’s independence.

” We had some places of special interest. That has been talked about. But why bring out something new every day? Why escalate the controversy? There is a special devotion to Gyanvapi. But Mohan Bhagwat asked why every mosque is looking for a Shiva lingam. We have no objection to any form of worship. Everything is considered sacred. If the dispute goes to court, the court will have to accept whatever the verdict is, ”Bhagwat said.

English Summary: In first remarks on the row over the Gyanvapi mosque, now at the centre of court room battles in Varanasi, RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat Thursday questioned the need to “look for a Shivling in every mosque” and said the RSS was not in favour of launching any other movement (andolan) on these issues. Addressing the concluding session of the RSS officer training camp in Nagpur, Bhagwat said the Gyanvapi dispute involves some issues of faith and the court’s decision on it should be accepted by all.
