No Australian and Pacific teams in the New Zealand Super Rugby competition in 2021

WELLINGTON (Reuters) – New Zealand will resume national Super Rugby Aotearoa competition in 2021, with no Australian or Pacific Island teams involved, New Zealand Rugby president Brett Impey said Thursday.

“COVID has forced us to think nationally for the next year,” Impey told reporters in a video call.

“Given the success of Super Rugby Aotearoa, it has become child’s play to do something similar in 2021”.
