Good news for adrenaline junkies: The Europapark in Rust (D) opens its doors at the end of May. The attractions can then be visited again under strict hygienic conditions.
“We have prepared intensively for the reopening of Europa-Park, the accommodation options and the catering trade in close consultation with the authorities,” says a media release.
But you won’t have to sit in the roller coaster alone. Most of the time you are traveling with family or friends. The attractions would therefore be safe to visit in groups, Dieter Borer, Europapark boss Switzerland, told the «Basler newspaper». The park should have opened in March, but Corona put a spanner in the works. The Rulantica water world, which opened last year, also had to close.
On good days, 40,000 guests would visit the park. It shouldn’t be that many at the end of May. While Germans can celebrate the surviving corona lockdown in the Europapark at the end of May, Swiss and French people will most likely have to be patient. So far the borders have been closed. It remains to be seen whether this will change by the end of May.
