[モスクワ ２７日 ロイター] – Nord Stream, which operates natural gas pipelines connecting Russia and Europe, announced on the 27th that three pipelines had been damaged on the same day. Such cases are said to be “unprecedented,” and there is no hope of recovery.
The Danish shipping authority announced on the 26th that a gas leak had occurred on Nord Stream 2. Following this, the Swedish Maritime Authority announced on the 27th that two gas leaks had been detected on Nord Stream 1.
Nord Stream said it was unprecedented to see three pipelines damaged on the same day, and said: “It is not possible at this time to predict when the gas transportation infrastructure will be restored.”
Nord Stream 1 consists of two parallel pipes, each with a capacity of 27.5 billion cubic meters per year. In 2011, it began supplying gas from Russia to Germany. After July, it was only operating at 20% capacity, but it stopped at the end of August and has not been restarted even after maintenance.
Nord Stream 2 was built in September 2021 but did not come into force after Germany suspended the project.
