World number 1 Novak Djokovic has responded to Roger Federer’s new challenge, which he posted on his Twitter account on Tuesday. The Serbian player posted his video of the challenge on his Instagram account.
In his challenge, Roger Federer stands inches from the wall and meets quick forehand volleys. The shots are too fast to be counted, but he hit about 200 consecutive volleys in a minute without moving his feet in the video, and then asked several celebrities and tennis stars, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Alexander Zverev and Cori “Coco” Gauff others to try the challenge.
Last week, Federer kept his fans up to date on social media, encouraging them to stay at home and post videos hitting the wall as people in many countries around the world due to global COVID -19 pandemic are still locked.
Federer underwent knee surgery in February and should be out of service by June. Roger Federer was eager to play the turf tour again, but the Wimbledon organizers recently decided to cancel the second Grand Slam of the year.
So now the Swiss has to wait until next year to play on his beloved surface.
