“I know there are concerns about whether I am the right person or not. I think the public’s view is very different from what I thought.”

The first task set as the new head of the Ministry of Education is ‘drastic education reform’.

As a starting point, he declared that he would lift the restrictions on the ‘sand bag’ that has held back the ‘university’.

First of all, it is expected that the semiconductor talent training plan to be released this month will speed up.

However, there is criticism that the quota regulation must be lifted in order to open a semiconductor department at a university in the metropolitan area, which hastened the crisis of local universities.

“I asked for advice on how to catch two rabbits, and I don’t have an answer right away, but one day I will announce those policies to you soon.”

He also promised to expand the diversity and autonomy of the educational field.

The issue of preserving autonomous private high schools, which is expected to have conflicts with progressive superintendents, is likely to arise.

Regarding the recent controversial college tuition increase, he said that he would not do it right away due to a surge in inflation.

In addition, there are many pending issues, such as the launch of the National Education Commission and the issue of educational subsidies.

However, difficulties are expected due to the opposition of teachers’ organizations, who should contribute to the promotion of various tasks.

“I am deeply suspicious of the will and ability of a person with no education at all.”

On the other hand, Minister Park said, “I must have been influenced by the special envoy for drunk driving at the time,” and said that there would be an opportunity to explain in the National Assembly about the suspension of the drunk driving sentence.
