President of KSU; Sudhakaran’s ‘master plan’: KC supports! K. Sudhakaran | VD Satheesan | KSU elections

After five and a half years, KSU, the Congress student organization, became the new state officials. Although the leadership says it is a reorganization, only the state president and two vice presidents have come. The answer to the question are the new officers in KSU but the first leader of the opposition in the state Congress politics is VD Satheesan and KPCC president K. Sudhakaran.

Institutionally, the KPCC president holds the highest position in the state Congress. It is the President’s freedom to decide the officers of the nutritional organization. However, VD Satheesan had the upper hand in the reorganization of KSU. Satheesan’s nominee Aloysius Xavier became the KSU state president despite objections raised by the Sudhakara faction on the grounds that he had reached the age limit and complaints were sent to the central leadership. The name written by K. Sudhakaran for the post of president was Kannur district president P. Muhammad Shammas. Shammas had to settle for the position of vice president. Even then, the Satheesan side took the precaution of not becoming the center of power by appointing a second vice president, supported by Shammas Sudhakaran. Women’s Vice President Ann Sebastian is also Satheesan’s nominee. His supporters say that K. Sudhakaran did not know about the appointment of a second vice president. Leaders including AK Antony announced on the stage when KM Abhijith resigned that KSU itself will determine the KSU office bearers. But as usual, when the group leadership in the Congress divided officers, VD Satheesan got the upper hand.

∙ Oral democracy, nomination in action

KPCC VT Vice President KPCC appointed Balram for election of KPCC officers. Balram tried to get their opinion by calling a meeting of the current officers and meeting the district presidents individually and jointly. However, when the leadership of the group intervened, Balram had to give up his efforts to find his president democratically from within the KSU. Group A member KM Abhijit leaves. Instead, the group argued that Group A had a claim. Satheesan’s side accepted this argument and thereby presented its nominee. Aloysius Xavier, who has now become president, is an old grouper A. Things became easier when Aloysius himself became a Satisan nominee.

But Sudhakaran was interceding for Kannur District President Mohammad Shammas. The age limit for KSU office holders is 27 years. Due to the lengthy reorganization, it was agreed to set the criteria as those born on 1 January 1994. Even according to this understanding, the Sudhakara faction raised the claim that Aloysius had passed the age limit. Ramesh Chennithala’s fans also agreed with this. The complaint went to the leadership and high management of the NSU.

But Satheesan was not ready to give up. On the day Mallikarjun Kharge was elected Congress president, two people from here came to Delhi.

of Aloysius Xavier and Muhammad Shammas. Meanwhile, something else happened. If the name of Aloysius is rejected due to the age limit, then the name of Anne Sebastian has also been proposed by Satheesan for consideration instead. Left and right nominated Sudhakaran to cut the rust card.

The lot did not have to be taken out. AICC General Secretary KC Aloysius himself was decided through the intervention of Venugopal. Along with Shammas, Ann Sebastian was made vice president. Actions which neutralized Sudhakaran’s claim. The announcement from Delhi came on the same day as the funeral ceremony of former Kannur DCC president Satishan Patcheni. With this, the protest that was supposed to be held in Kannur due to the beating of Shammas was avoided.

∙ The first idea was the SFI model

At the time when office holders were decided by elections, the method in KSU was that the person who received the most votes was the president, and the runner-up was the only vice-president. Rijil Makutty when Shafi Parampil became president and AC when VS Joy became president. That’s how Rohit also became vice presidents. There will be many general secretaries. But KM When Abhijit became president, not by election, six vice presidents came along with fifteen general secretaries. When the battle for Aloysius and Shammas intensified, a proposal was presented by the Satisan side – the SFI model. The formula was just a President and Secretary General. There is a promise that Shammas will be made sole secretary general. The offer was rejected by Sudhakara.

K.Sudhakaran and VDSatheesan came to the leadership with the tag line of ‘Beyond the group’. As this tagline became popular, traditional groups declined. Although they say they don’t have a group, they both have interests and quarrel in the name of those interests.

∙ Group out

In the history of KSU, most state presidents have come from group A. Recently, this changed when Hibi Eden became president. But after this, A group regained the presidency. Aloysius Xavier Ernakulam district president in group A quota. But Aloysius can no longer be called KSU president which is group A. Opposition leader VD Aloysius is a close follower of Satisan. Group A have been having organizational problems for some time now. With no one to lead, group A is in shambles. So the bargaining power is reduced. Many people in the group joined Sudhakara Paksha or Satishan Paksha. When new KSU officials were appointed, Ramesh Chennithala was also ignored. Chennithala’s side also has its protest.

Although regionalism is not politically relevant, there is another. PC After Vishnu Nath, there has been no KSU president from south of Ernakulam in the last two decades. Not only the current president but also the vice presidents are from Ernakulam or north of it. In the case of the Youth Congress, this time the south-north balance was maintained by appointing Shafi and Sabrinath.

∙ Two more reorganizations coming soon

It was announced that the Mahila Congress will soon be reorganized. President JB Mather is unlikely to change. There will be a change in the committee. This is followed by a radical reorganization of the Youth Congress in March. The committee was appointed for two years. In March, the committee will be for three years. Shafi has made it clear that he will not continue beyond that. As the president changes, so does the committee. VD Satheesan’s interest is to make state general secretary Rahul Mankoothil the new president. He has the support of Shafi.

There are those who insist that the current Vice President KS Sabarinathan be considered. Sabarinathan became the vice president last time after being nominated for the post of president. Therefore, there are those who argue that he should be given a chance as president. While there are those who think that Sudhakaran will suggest Rigil Macooty, his presence has not been revealed. It remains to be seen if there will be a similar dispute with the Youth Congress officials and who will win the upper hand.

∙ Express individual interests ‘beyond’ the group

K.Sudhakaran and VDSatheesan came to the leadership with the tag line of ‘Beyond the group’. As this tagline became popular, traditional groups declined. Although they say they don’t have a group, they both have interests and quarrel in the name of those interests. It has been reflected in all institutional and parliamentary appointments. Sudhakaran M on Rajya Sabha vacancy. Liju’s name was put forward. Every effort was made to do so. But as in the case of KSU, JB Mehter became a Rajya Sabha candidate in a move by Satheesan by keeping group A with him. The clash of conflicting interests between the two is evident in service organizations like the NGO Union and the Kerala Secretariat Association.

VIP said AICC General Secretary KCVenugopal supports all Satheesan’s decisions. That is the main reason why K. Sudhakaran did not dare to face direct confrontation even when his interests were not recognised. KPCC National Congress President has left the decision whether Sudhakaran should continue as KPCC President or not. Naturally, that decision will be under the guidance of the Secretary General, who is in charge of the organization.
