Kochi: The legal hurdles for the release of Prithviraj’s film ‘Katuva’ have been cleared. The film will hit theaters on Thursday, July 7. Prithviraj himself broke the news through social media. With the final decision on the release date, the advance booking for the film has also started. This is director Shaji Kailash’s comeback film after a gap of eight years in Malayalam.
The film’s release faced uncertainty due to a complaint filed by a Kuruvachan named Jose Kuruvinakunnel that the film was based on his life. He also said in the complaint that there are scenes in the movie that insult him and his family. Meanwhile, a single bench of the High Court directed the Censor Board to look into the complaint.

‘Katuva’ has been written by screenwriter Jinu Abraham. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Janardhanan, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Harishree Asokan, Rahul Madhav, Kochupreman, Samyukta Menon, Seema and Priyanka are in other important roles. The film is produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames.
