Thousands of protesters are gathering outside the Russian embassy in Warsaw, Poland, on Thursday, calling for Russia to be designated a terrorist state and to expel its diplomats.

WARSAW (Reuters) – Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the Russian embassy in Warsaw on Wednesday to demand that Russia be designated a terrorist state and expel its diplomats. At least 11 people have been killed in missile attacks on several cities in Ukraine.

Poland is one of the country’s strongest supporters of Ukraine, with strong domestic opposition to Russian aggression. It has welcomed millions of refugees since the invasion began.

“My whole family stayed in Ukraine.

Many of the protesters wore Ukrainian flags and held placards reading “Russia is a terrorist state”.

A 40-year-old tax accountant said, “We want Russia to be designated a terrorist state because it is bombing innocent civilians.”

Representatives of the rally organizers said the number of participants was around 2,000. A police spokesman declined to comment on how many people were present.
