RIYADH> The country and city of Saudi Arabia is preparing to celebrate the 92nd National Day with the slogan “This is our home”. The General Authority for Entertainment Chairman of the Board of Directors Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Alu Sheikh announced the launch of the National Day activities. Alu-Shaikh said the national celebrations will last for nine days between September 18 and 26 in different parts of the country.
Saudi fighter jets, military and civilian aircraft will be present in 13 major cities of the country under the slogan A Homeland Salute, the biggest air show in the history of the country. There will also be 34 air and sea shows in different parts of the country to prepare for major national celebrations, led by spectacular air and sea shows by the military and civilian sectors with a variety of troops, helicopters, civilian aircraft, ships and boats.
This will be one of the biggest shows that National Days has seen under the slogan “Salute the Nation”. Over ten days, the Royal Saudi Arabian Air Force is holding air shows in 14 cities with Typhoon, F-15S, Tornado and F-15C aircraft. National Day Air Shows include air shows in 13 cities across the country (Al-Ahsa, Taif, Tabuk, Abaha, Sarat Ubaidah, Tamanya, Khamis Mushait and Al Baha), including Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar, Dammam and Jubail.
The Royal Saudi Arabian Navy will hold shows on the National Day of Jeddah Waterfront and Al-Fanathir Beach in Jubail. There will also be a large parade of boats belonging to the private marine security group. The National Guard Administration will display several helicopters along with security flight helicopters at the start of the Air Show. One of them will carry the country’s flag during the half-hour journey. The Border Protection Command in Makkah and Eastern Regions will also participate in the National Day celebrations with a number of Marine media demonstrations. Ships, boats, multi-purpose boats and helicopters of various sizes will be on display at the Marine March.
The capital Riyadh and the city of Jeddah will witness a special celebration event. A procession of the Royal Guard and a cavalcade will begin to travel the main roads. A grand national parade is held to share the joy of the citizens with the participation of the Royal Saudi Anthem Band led by the Royal Guard and classic cars. More than 15 military and civilian parties are participating in the air and sea shows, including the Ministry of Defence, the Saudi Falcons, the Ministry of National Guard and the Ministry of Interior (represented by the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Royal Saudi Navy Arabia). The General Directorate of the Border Guard, the Presidency of State Security (represented by the General Command of Security Aviation) and the Presidency of the Royal Guard will also take part in the shows.
Apart from the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Saudi Air Navigation Services, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Saudi Aviation Club, Flynas and Flydeal will participate in the airshows. The Radio and Television Corporation is responsible for broadcasting the programs live. The Ministry of Home Affairs is participating in the National Day celebrations with quality partnerships and live interactive programs called “Ezzie of the Nation Events” which include educational ideas and entertainment surprises with the aim of creating an experience rich and personal for the visitors and empowering them. There will be 6 military shows during the Izz al-Watan operations.
The events include a virtual reality theater that simulates the participation of high-level security personnel to create a mental image of the sacrifice of security personnel in addition to some military exhibits that contribute to enriching the information and security aspects of the visitors who will be standing
On Friday, September 23, 2022 at 9 pm, fireworks will be displayed simultaneously in 18 cities and the country’s sky will light up in green and white. All citizens can watch the fireworks display at a height of up to 300 meters and share moments of happiness and joy in memory of the National Day.
