London ∙ Sri Lankan author Shehan Karunathilake has won this year’s Booker Prize. Sheehan, aged 47, won the award for his second novel, ‘The Seven Moons of Mali Almeida’. It is a novel that tells the story of the soul of a photographer in the context of the Sri Lankan Civil War. ‘Chinaman: The Legend of Pradeep Mathew’ released in 2010 is Shehan’s first novel.

The prize money is £50,000. The Booker Prize is an award given to English novels published in the UK and Ireland. This time 6 people reached the final round.
