And this machine does not infuriate with side stamps or “X”, because they are not.
AvtoVAZ suffered several crises and repeatedly found itself on the verge of closure. The company suffered tremendous losses, and its affairs did not improve until it was under the wing of Renault-Nissan.
The Togliatti auto giant began to improve the quality of its products, and in 2011, Steve Mattin, an experienced British designer who developed the exterior of a number of Mercedes, Maybach and Volvo models, joined AvtoVAZ.
In 2012, the LADA XRay concept was introduced, it became the first brainchild of AvtoVAZ by Steve Mattin and one of the fateful decisions of the enterprise, because serial models that are based on it now bring the plant to plus. One of these models was LADA Vesta.
Vesta is a flagship that, unlike the serial Iksrey, received a more harmonious look and sedan body, which made it the leader of the VAZ model line. LADA Vesta held the first place until the Grant was renewed in 2018, which also received the design of Steve Mattin, and now does not give way to a leader in the Russian market.
But, all this is largely the merits of Renault-Nissan. What if AvtoVAZ did not dance to the tune of the Alliance? An independent designer decided to visualize the answer to this question; he showed LADA Vesta not Steve Mattin. According to the author, if it were not for the British, then more modest looking cars would be produced in Togliatti.
The designer demonstrated this on the body of Vesta, which lost the side embossments that still cause “hat” and controversy, and the car also acquired the appearance of a de-styling “Grant”, since it was she who reflected the “VAZ” style before Steve Mattin appeared in the role chief designer of AvtoVAZ. By the way, the car looks quite bearable, and the design resembles the “Octavia”.
