Gomes, who has been linked to a move to Chelsea, has been stuck in contract negotiations with the club for months, but little progress has been made.
And with his current agreement expiring tomorrow, Solskjaer has admitted that the academy graduate should leave.
“I have no news – nothing. So it doesn’t look like it, ” said Solskjaer before Manchester United’s clash with Brighton.
“ I did not hear about them (from the club) last night or this morning, so it seems that they did not manage to get along.
“So the answer is probably short and yes (he will go).”
Gomes has long been considered one of the most talented prospects at the United Academy.
He has appeared on the bench only twice in the Premier League this season, while starting three times in the Europa League.
The absence of first team football, accompanied by the signing of Bruno Fernandes and the pursuit of Jack Grealish, would be the main reason for his concerns about the commitment of his future at Old Trafford.
The united chiefs were thought to have made an offer of £ 30,000 a week for the 19 year old.
Both Chelsea and Barcelona have been credited with interest and will be eligible for a free transfer if no agreement is reached with United before the end of the month.
