It is known that South Korea will also participate in the UN Security Council meeting held to respond to North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile and ICBM launches.

According to diplomatic sources, Korea will participate in the public meeting held on the 21st local time as an interested party.

The Rules of Procedure of the UN Security Council allow directly interested parties to participate in discussions even if they are not members of the board, but do not have the right to vote.

At this meeting, the Korean government is expected to condemn North Korea’s repeated violations of Security Council resolutions and emphasize the need for the international community to unite and issue a stern warning.

The ‘Hwasong-17’ launched by North Korea on the 18th rose to an altitude of about 6,100 kilometers and flew about 1,000 kilometers.

This is the sixth time this year that the UN Security Council has held a public meeting due to North Korea’s provocation, but China and Russia have opposed the decision for additional sanctions against North Korea.
