SRT train derailment repair work completed… Gyeongbu High-Speed ​​Line train service resumes

The recovery work of the Gyeongbu Line SRT derailment accident that occurred on the 1st was completed, and the uplink service between Daejeon-Osong Station was fully resumed from 7:13 am on the 2nd.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the downbound line is operating normally from the first KTX train bound for Jinju from Seoul at 5:05 a.m. on the same day.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport completed the restoration of tracks and tram lines around 7 am on the same day in cooperation with related organizations such as Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL).

After a test run by 7:13 a.m., the track safety was confirmed and operation resumed entirely.

The day before, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong inspected the accident situation at Seoul Station around 11:10 pm, promised to identify the cause of the accident and prevent recurrence, and apologized directly to passengers.

In the case of the Gyeongbu Line SRT derailment accident that occurred on the 1st, at 3:21 pm, the SRT 338 train bound for Suseo departed from the track near Daejeon Yard Station. Seven people were injured in the accident and taken to a nearby hospital.

According to KORAIL, 14 high-speed trains, including KTX and SRT, were suspended due to the accident, and delayed operation of up to 5 hours and 26 minutes occurred.
