This weekend is getting warmer. After a mild to mild start, both Saturday and Sunday afternoons will be sizzling. Showers and storms are expected, but not until the end of the weekend and more likely when the sun sets. The daytime hours of the weekend will be dry for everyone in the region.
WEATHER ON SATURDAY
Saturday afternoon will be sunny and warm. Even the milder south wind will bring warmer air. People and families will need to make sure that children and pets stay away from unattended vehicles as they walk away socially and wear masks. Drink lots of water because temperatures rise until the 80s during the afternoon heat.
Saturday night will be clear and warm with temperatures close to 80 degrees.

Tropical storm Hanna was transferred to a hurricane on Saturday, moving to the Texas coast and threatening to bring heavy rains, storms and possible tornadoes to a part of the country trying to cope with a wave of coronavirus cases.
SUNDAY AND BEYOND
The “friz” factor is transformed into “high” Sunday. It will be mostly sunny and warmer with afternoon temperatures in the low 90s. The heat ratios will be in the mid-90s.
Showers and thunderstorms arrive and develop on Sunday evening and Monday morning. Heavy downpours, dangerous lightning and gusts of wind are possible, especially during the night.
Monday will be very hot and muggy with highs in the 80s. Showers and thunderstorms are possible.
Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday return to more seasonal levels with lower humidity. The highs will be in the low 80s with abundant sunshine every day.
