Szymon Hołownia admitted that he would decide who he would support in the second round of presidential elections on Wednesday or Thursday. “She doesn’t wear pink,” he said during a live broadcast on Facebook. “The Civic Platform made a terrible mistake in deciding not to support a civic candidate who had a better chance of winning with Andrzej Duda. Party logic won. Now there will be a shout: ‘Oh, oh, help, we had to think before. Platforma, about who had a better chance to beat Andrzej Duda, “he said.
We’ve done a really great campaign. In all this blocked PiS and Platform system we have shown that there can be a completely new way of thinking about politics – full of energy, full of joy, full of desire to build – said Szymon Hołownia during the Facebook broadcast. It is clear that I lost this election. There is nothing to say and coquet that it is different. Now you have to do it (…) so that Poland does not lose the second round, and this can happen to us he warned.
Poland is more important to me than the Civic Platform. That is why I do not close myself and shoot fools: we will base further conversations on the merits – Hołownia declared. He assured that he would make a decision on support after talks with regional leaders who worked on his campaign.
Jacek Cichocki, the chief of staff of the Hołownia, was asked on TVN 24 about the issue of support in the second round of Andrzej Duda or Rafał Trzaskowski. Szymon Hołownia said two things yesterday: that first of all he would meet the people who created his campaign, regional leaders, colleagues, experts and talk about what is important today and what is most urgent. Second thing: he said that he would declare himself who he would vote for he said. Speaking about his own electoral preferences, he emphasized that he was close to Rafał Trzaskowski.
When asked whether before the second round of elections Hołownia will start talks with Andrzej Duda and Rafał Trzaskowski, Cichocki said that “you need to talk about specific issues, demands” because to attract Hołownia voters “you need to attract them to something”.
Asked whether an element of building a social movement could be the start of Hołownia in the presidential election in Warsaw, if Trzaskowski managed to become the president of Poland, Cichocki admitted that he does not see this perspective today.
The vision of the presidency, which was outlined very precisely by Szymon Hołownia at the very beginning of this long campaign – back in February, and then deepened it by expanding in those 15 programming documents that were created – this is the vision for the presidency of Poland, not Warsaw. This cannot be implemented at the local level – assessed the Chief of Staff of Hołownia.
Szymon Hołownia’s electoral representative – Michał Kobosko – admitted in RMF FM that he would vote in the second round of presidential elections, but he does not yet know who he will support. I assess these candidates differently – I do not assess them as well or similarly, but for today 100% I have no conviction for any of the candidates – he explained in an interview with Marcin Zaborski.
Szymon Hołownia and the whole project began with this, it was built on it and was supported by 2.2 million voters (…) precisely because he proposed something other than a simple, tiring for millions of Poles division between PiS and PO. If there were no such duopoly, if there were no fatigue of people with such a division, it would probably not be Szymon Hołownia’s project or it would be much harder – stated in RMF FM Michał Kobosko – the electoral representative of Szymon Hołownia. Poland is not the United States. This is not a division between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. The Polish political scene has yet to be built. The two main parties do not meet the needs of a large part of society – Kobosko argued.
