Sreenath VS and Nehal Maria Mathew are champions in the All India Tennis Association Talent Series Under-14 tournament. Children from Kerala won the singles and doubles titles in all categories. About 70 children from the states of Kerala, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and Andhra participated in the championship.
In boys’ singles, Srinath of Thiruvananthapuram defeated Ahbin Nanna of Malappuram Edapall to become the champion. Score 6-3, 6-3. Nehal, a native of Ernakulam, won the title by defeating Lakshmi Shahana 6-2, 6-7, 6-3 in the women’s singles. In boys doubles, Srinath beat Srikarthik Advait and Suven. Score 6-1, 6-1.
In the women’s doubles, Pavitra and Vaiga defeated Gauri and Deepshikha. Score 5-7, 7-5, 10-4. The tournament was jointly organized by the Kerala Ministry of Sports, Youth Affairs and Sports under the leadership of Kerala Tennis Association and Thiruvananthapuram District Tennis Association.
