The governors seek second consecutive victory against Huron

PIERRE – One of the Governors’ longtime rivals arrives in the capital on Friday. Pierre will host Huron at Hollister Field at Phil Trautner Stadium, looking to improve a 3-1 record and follow last week’s 79-28 home win over Spearfish.

Head Coach Governor Steve Steele said the younger players called to play in that Spearfish game were excellent.

Steele said Rylan Derry went from footballer to footballer with ease.

Despite the Spartans’ great passes, Steele said Pierre’s defense was generally good.

Steele was asked how many of those quarantined Huron can be counted on.

Steele stressed that studying the video of the opponents is very important.

Huron can move the ball on offense, Steele said.

Steele called the defense of the Tigers effective.

Steele said there are important matches for Pierre and the other 11AA leaders.

Huron is 2-3 after a tough 21-19 defeat last Friday in Sturgis. Pierre and Huron can be heard on Friday night with the Governors’ official voice, River 92.7, starting at 6:30 am with Brian Oakland. Live and archived videos will be available on the River 92.7 page on
