The Kardashian family drama may have actually led to the show’s downfall

All good things have to come to an end, and – if you believe fan ratings over the past few years, at least – it seems like all mediocre ones have to. Keeping up with the Kardashians it had certainly lost its shine in recent seasons, but it’s pretty understandable after more than a decade in the spotlight.

After all, the entire premise of the show’s initial run was more or less defunct by the time each of the starring sisters had moved on to their own families and careers.

There was no longer a cohesive family unit to watch, and some say the end of the show was simply a matter of admitting that things had changed and that the chicks had flown into the nest.

However, other fans are convinced that the show could have continued smoothly if only the family drama hadn’t tore it apart.

“KUWTK” had an incredible run

Say what you want about the show, but there’s no denying its impact on reality TV has been influential. when KUWTK first presented in 2006, many people were completely confused by the premise. Who would want to see a bunch of rich people trying to get famous? Well, it turns out that a lot of people wanted to watch.

As industry executives realized the format’s success, the world got a ton of similar series that followed in Kardashian’s footsteps.

It’s not the only legacy the show will leave behind. It also acted as a platform for each of the sisters’ careers, giving them prominent social media followers that they’ve managed to leverage for recognition.

These awards, in turn, provided them with wealth and fame, and most of the sisters used those assets to start their own businesses.

Meanwhile, each sister had to calculate her own balance as much as she would have liked to stay under the harsh glow of reality TV.

When the show premiered, Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian were young women who lived the single life and enjoyed being socialites. Little sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner were just kids when the first season of KUWTK came out, so fans saw the whole group mature and change before their eyes.

Over time, the sisters not only became more famous, but they also found a level of independence and identity that wasn’t evident in the early seasons of KUWTK.

Now, most of the sisters – all except Kendall – have children of their own. They have to manage their own desires to keep some of their personal details out of the spotlight and protect their children from the prying eyes of the public.

They also have their own professional goals to fulfill, which can make it difficult to fit into the demanding schedule mix of a reality TV series.

In recent years, more than one episode of the show seemed to be a chore for at least one sister or another, and the debate over who was or wasn’t pulling her weight has become the driving force behind an epic blast between Kim and Kourtney Kardashian.

Fans feel that “KUWTK” has moved away from its roots

Though fans have been predicting the show’s end for years, the actual announcement that it would end after its 20th season was still a shock.

Fans turned to Reddit to share memories of the series and analyze what brought it to an end.

“What made the show so great in the first few seasons was the fact that there were so many family members, so it never felt like we had too much of one person. With Rob and Caitlyn outside, plus Kendall and Kylie’s glimpses in and out, Kourtney’s disinterest, etc. It feels less like a family show which is why so many people loved it, ”explained one insightful fan.

Many fans think the show has ultimately strayed too far from its roots. That, they believe, was his final undoing.
