This is the largest one-day increase in COVID-19 cases in Ontario to date.

On Wednesday morning, the province reports 426 new cases of the virus.

The 21.7 percent increase brings the provincial total to 2,300 92 confirmed cases, with 689 patients recovered and more than 3,000 cases still pending.

During the night, 4 additional deaths were reported in Ontario for a total of 37 deaths.

On Tuesday evening, the province tested more than 57,000 people.
