The Czech Republic faced a record wave of new cases last week with over 3,000 positive results in one day. This increase has slowed slightly this week with a daily increase of mostly less than 3,000.
Prague was the hardest hit with more than 205 positives per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days.
Primula says a record 740 are hospitalized across the country, about three times more than two weeks ago. It says hospitals have 6,000 beds assigned for COVID-19 patients and another 1,000 in intensive care.
The Czech Republic has a total of 58,374 confirmed cases and 567 deaths.
COPENHAGEN, Denmark – The Scandinavian country reported 678 new cases on Friday, the highest number ever recorded.

In neighboring Norway, 13,406 cases and 270 deaths were reported on Friday.
