Landlord’s Super hits Steam Early Access on April 30, 2020 for £ 15.49 / $ 19.99 / € 16.79.
This is the next game from MinskWorks, the developer of the popular Eastern European road trip game Jalopy.
Landlord’s Super, on the other hand, is a simulation of construction taking place in the north of England in the 1980s. The mines closed, the inhabitants are unemployed, and it is up to you to get out of poverty and give hope to a community. Yes, this one has politics on his sleeve. Mrs. Thatcher would have been proud.
Here is the official presentation text:
“Landlord’s Super is a first-person construction simulation set in Britain’s dark Midlands during the polarizing years of the 1980s. With the mines closed and the unemployment rate extremely high, it is up to the players to get out of poverty with a hammer and wrench in hand.
Mix the cement, assemble the scaffolding, order supplies and rebuild the hope of a brick-by-brick community. Take on odd jobs and explore abandoned houses or spend the day at the pub alongside a cast of local personalities and shady characters. Plan your actions in a living world around the time of day, major events, seasonal weather and your own well-being. On some days it is better to drink all day than to climb a scaffold in the rain. “
For developer Greg Pryjmachuk, Landlord’s Super is a personal project.
“Landlord’s Super is about a Britain that is dear to me,” he said.
“This is a Britain that is not just tweed and chic jokes; it is a Britain that is more diverse and more working class. I hope players enjoy this early visit to West Berklands and I hope you will stay with us as the game evolves months. “
