The Russian corporation voted to approve Putin’s annexation of occupied territories in Ukraine

Four regional chiefs including DPR go to Moscow asking for disclosure

On the 28th (local time), the day after the administrations of the Russian-occupied territories in Ukraine decided to incorporate the territory into Russia through a referendum, they asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to approve it.

According to Reuters and TASS, Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), which declared independence from pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, left for Russia to complete legal proceedings related to its territorial annexation with Russia.

“I’m leaving for Moscow with the documents on the results of the referendum,” he said before leaving.

Leonid Pasenchik, head of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), which declared independence from the eastern province of Lugansk (Ukrainian name Luhansk), Yevgeny Balitsky, head of the pro-Russian administration of Zaporiza Oblast, and Vladimir Saldo, head of the pro-Russian Administration of Kherson Oblast Back the results of the referendum held, he has publicly asked Putin to approve his annexation to Russian territory.

The previous day, a five-day referendum on incorporation into Russia was completed in these four occupied territories.

Russia intends to promote the territorial incorporation of these regions in accordance with the ‘Law on Procedures for the Incorporation of New Federal Subjects (Constituents)’.

After receiving a request for incorporation from the occupied territories, Putin will sign an international agreement with the applicants for incorporation after consulting the government and parliament.

If the Constitutional Court decides that the agreement complies with the Russian Constitution, the agreement will enter into force after ratification by the House and Senate and the final signature of the President.

When Crimea became part of Russia in 2014, all procedures were completed six days after the referendum.

However, this time, there are many regions and voting has been held for five days, so it is expected that the final procedure will be completed in early October.
