CAIRO – Oil and gas companies are the main polluters of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, and they are understating their numbers, according to environmental researchers.
The data collected by ‘Climate Trace’, a consortium of researchers, data analysts and non-governmental organisations, shows that these companies actually emit three times more than what is shown in the documents.
Former US Vice President Al Gore, who is one of the founders of ClimateTrace, presented his statistics at a climate summit in Egypt.
