The tourist bus did not have time to change its color as stated by the Department of Motor Vehicles; KSRTC rushed to the wedding. KSRTC low floor AC buses were booked for the marriage of a native of Kollam Edavatam at Changanassery. The tourist buses booked for the wedding of Hemand Raj, son of Retd.Tehsildar D. Rajanpila at Greeshmath in Porikeal Edavattam did not arrive on time.
The owners of the buses canceled the order as they did not have time to hit the white color. It was only later that the KSRTC was contacted and the buses booked from the Thiruvananthapuram depot for the groom’s group arrived. The tour was without a leader and Hemand was married to KM Sudheesh Babu’s daughter S. Kavya at Indira Mandir. The groom’s family organized 6 low floor buses and the bride’s family 3.
Thiruvananthapuram Central Depot coordinates the services for such trips. So far 63 buses have been provided for schools, colleges and weddings. An income of 18 lakhs was also received.
