President Donald Trump is expected to make a rare visit to the Los Angeles area next week in support of his re-election campaign, but details were scarce.
Campaign officials tend to be tight-lipped about private fundraising details, by invitation only, and a Trump campaign representative was not immediately reached for comment. Political writer Alex Isenstadt, citing an invitation, reported that Trump will be in the Los Angeles area for a fundraiser on Tuesday.
The Trump Make America Great Again Committee – a joint fundraising effort between the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee – circulated a sweepstakes offer this week, urging supporters to make a contribution for a chance to win a trip. at a Los Angeles event with Trump.
“I will be hosting a very important event soon, and instead of spending my time with Hollywood ELITES who hate us, I want to spend my time with true patriots, like YOU,” reads the campaign email.
The lottery – entries due by 9pm – offers a flight to Los Angeles, a hotel room and a meal, along with a photo with Trump. The email did not provide any details about the event, an exact date or place could not be specified.
Trump rarely makes appearances in the heavily democratic area of Los Angeles and the visits are primarily to participate in private fundraisers. He was most recently in the area in February when he attended fundraising events in Beverly Hills and met with the organizers of the 2028 Olympic Games.
A Tuesday visit from Trump would likely be relatively short. Trump is scheduled to hold election rallies in Tucson, Arizona on Monday evening and in Flagstaff, Arizona on Tuesday evening, the Republic of Arizona reported.
