| Twenty 20 series for India Mangalam

Napier: India won the Twenty20 cricket series against New Zealand. India won the three-match Twenty20 series 1-0. The third game ended in a draw when the rain stopped. Batting first, New Zealand scored 160 runs. India reached 75 for 4 in nine overs. The match was a draw as India were close to the required score under the Duckworth/Lewis rain rule. The first Twenty20 was abandoned due to rain. Captain Hardik Pandya’s innings (30 not out including one six and three fours off 18 balls) helped India. Ishan Kishan (10 off 11 balls with a six and a four), Rishabh Pant (11 off five balls), Suryakumar Yadav (13 off 10 balls with a six and a four) and Shreyas Iyer (0) were disappointing. Deepak Hooda (nine off nine balls) stayed with Pandya.

New Zealand got off to a good start but failed to reach the big score. Opener Devon Conway (59 off 49 balls with two sixes and five fours) and Glenn Phillips (54 off 33 balls with three sixes and five fours) got off to a good start. Arshadeep Singh and Mohammad Siraj took four wickets each and New Zealand trailed.
