Kannada cinema superstar Upendra has officially joined the cast of the upcoming adventure zombie action-comedy film “Zombie Reddy Nxt Lvl,” according to a confirmation from India’s People Media Factory. The casting announcement was made on the birthday of star Teja Sajja, who returns to lead the franchise as its dedicated zombie-slayer.
Alongside Upendra’s powerhouse role, the film marks the South Indian cinema debut of actor Shanaya Kapoor, who is recognized for her work in “Tu Yaa Main.”
The production team behind the sequel includes director Prasanth Varma, who helmed the 2021 original film “Zombie Reddy.” That original hit centered on a game developer forced to save his village from a sudden outbreak unleashed by a scientist’s vaccine experiment. For the new project, Prasanth Varma authored the story and shares screenplay credits with Hussain Dalal and Suparn S. Suparn S. Varma, known for his work on “The Family Man” Season 2 and “Rana Naidu,” also directs the sequel.
Music for the feature is composed by Gowra Hari, whose previous scores powered high-profile projects like “HanuMan” and “Mirai.” Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad are producing the project under the banner of India’s People Media Factory.
