West Virginia names Principal of Year

BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) A principal from southern West Virginia recently received a great honor.

Alicia Lett, the principal of Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School recently received the state’s “Principal of the Year” award. It has also been awarded a National Distinguished Principal and will participate in the national competition for excellence in education administration.

Lett was nominated by her school staff.

“It’s really hard to honestly believe. I work with so many great people here. I have the best staff. In Raleigh County, our principals are the cream of the crop and so being a part of it feels like an individual award, it’s really a prize. for school and county. ”

In an interview with WVVA News on Thursday, Lett said she feels as though she and the school got this award due to their teachers’ desire for success among their students.
