‘What four colors for music; Nanjiamma got the recognition she deserved’; Harish Sivaramakrishnan

More people are on the scene in support of the best singer award given to Nanchiamma at the National Film Awards. Harish Sivarakrishnan responded that Nanchiamma received the award she deserved. Musician Linu Lal took to the stage against Nanjiamma getting the nod for best playback singer.

What is the color of music? His Facebook post begins by asking. He said that every style of music has its own unique methods. Linu’s question is whether this recognition feels insulting to those who have devoted their lives to music.

The jury said Nanchiamma is the best playback singer. Harish says that she is not the best singer in India. The song recorded by singer Nanchiamma is one of the best in her genre of music. Perhaps no one else can sing that song with such grace. So they got the recognition they deserved.

A distinction between simple and bad and hard and good is not possible in music. He also finds it difficult to sing many simple things. Practicing Carnatic music is a good training and will help you a lot to become a good singer.

But it is a big misconception that all branches of music can be mastered only by classical music training. It has been said in the past that if you learn Carnatic music you can sing anything – it is wrong. Each style of music has its own unique methods. Context switching is a very difficult task. Many people who sing Carnatic music for real cannot sing ghazal well. Many people who sing ghazals well cannot sing folk songs.
The song recorded by singer Nanjiamma is one of the best in her music genre. Perhaps no one else can sing that song with such grace. That is why they got the recognition they deserved.

Melodyne and autotune are the technical means to make a good product. That is why their use should be seen as such. Looking for raw voice to choose a good singer? And watching footage without make up and lighting is not enough to choose a good actor. How many retakes did you take? That is why the award determination for the finished product will be completely based on that product.
