Xi Jinping blames ‘Western Democracy’ as the cause of the war.

The Chinese leader said some Western countries have used democracy as an excuse to interfere with others.

The South China Morning Post reported that President Xi Jinping told top Chinese officials earlier this year that Promoting Western democracy has led to wars, chaos and the displacement of people around the world.

China’s Qiushi magazine released all of Xi’s remarks on Wednesday. He said Xi told 24 other political bureaucrats that democracy and human rights were not just decorations.

Xi Jinping also called on officials from the Political Department. It “actively participates in UN human rights affairs” and increases China’s influence on the multilateral human rights institution.

Xinping’s remarks are reminiscent of a 2014 speech in which he told more than 100 ministerial officials to “fight back decisively” whenever faced with the West on human rights issues.

“It’s satisfying as long as we can meet Chinese standards. And we don’t need to look at Western standards. Or care how they judge us?” Xi Jinping said at that moment. “When faced with the pointing of blame from Western countries for China’s human rights, We must fight back resolutely.”
