Three executives and employees of three of the seven major steel manufacturers suspected of colluding with rebar worth 6 trillion won have been arrested.

The Seoul Central District Court announced today (3rd) that as a result of questioning the suspects prior to the arrest of seven executives and workers of the seven main steel mills, three were arrested and the application for warrants for the other four was rejected.

Hyundai Steel, Dongkuk Steel, Daehan Steel, Hankook Iron Works, YK Steel, Hwanhwa Steel Industry, and Hankuk Steel are suspected of colluding in advance when bidding for rebar contracts ordered by the Public Procurement Service between 2012 and 2018.

The total collusion is equivalent to 6,844.2 billion won.
