Our Taegeuk Warriors managed to advance to the round of 16 after hard work.

As much as I did my best, I also made a decent income.

The national team as well as individual players set various records.

Reporter Lee Seung-guk reports.

A total of 4 goals were scored by the Korean national team during the three group matches.

Although he lost against Ghana, he scored two goals, and also scored two goals against Portugal, including an equalizer and a come-from-behind goal.

This is the first time Korean football has scored two goals in two consecutive matches in one World Cup tournament.

By adding 4 goals in this World Cup, his total score has reached 38 goals in 37 games, surpassing the World Cup average by 1 goal.

Glorious records emerge one after another in the history of Korean football as well as in individual players.

Cho Kyu-seong, who scored two goals with just a header in the game against Ghana, became the first Korean player to set a record for ‘multiple goals in one game’ in the World Cup finals.

Captain Son Heung-min assisted Hwang Hee-chan’s winning goal in extra time in the second half of the match against Portugal, and increased his attacking points to 4 with 3 goals and 1 assist in his personal World Cup career.

These are the most attacking points, such as the record set by former coach Choi Soon-ho, who was recently appointed head of Suwon FC.

Hwang Hee-chan, the protagonist of the winning goal against Portugal, also left a milestone.

He came on as a substitute in the 20th minute of the second half and scored the winning goal in the 1st minute of extra time in the second half, which was recorded as the shortest goal after being substituted.

Hwang Hee-chan said he was sure the ball would come to him, and that he was able to score thanks to Son Heung-min’s easy-to-shoot pass.

Hwang Hee-chan’s miraculous ‘theatrical goal’ changed not only Korean football but also the history of his team.

This was the first player from Wolverhampton to score in a World Cup in 62 years.

Attention is focused on whether the various record-setting Taegeuk Warriors will be able to set the milestone of advancing to the quarter-finals for the first time on an expedition.
