Cold weather has been rampant again since the beginning of the week.

Cold wave warnings were issued in Cheorwon and Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, and in the mountains, and cold wave warnings were issued in Yeoncheon and Pocheon in Gyeonggi Province, and in Pyeongchang and Hoengseong in Gangwon Province.

This morning, the morning temperature in Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do plunged to -15.3 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the country.

As the wind chill increased, the felt temperature was 24.8 degrees below zero at Mt. Gwangdeok, Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do, and 11.8 degrees below zero in Seoul.

All cold wave warnings have been lifted, but as cold and dry air settles in our country, the cold weather will continue until tomorrow.

“Heavy, cold, dry air sinks heavily into the ground and develops cold continental high pressure. Along with the flow of high pressure expanding from northern China, cold northwesterly winds blow to Korea, continuing the cold.”

The elderly and children should pay special attention to keeping warm, and people with cardiovascular diseases should avoid going out as much as possible.

The atmosphere is also gradually drying.

Dry warnings are issued for Gangneung and Donghae, Samcheok and Sokcho, Goseong and Yangyang-gun in Gangwon-do, and dry warnings are issued for Seoul, Gwangju, and Daegu.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that clear weather would continue for the time being and that a dry warning would spread, and asked for extreme caution to prevent various fires such as forest fires.
