The bathing accident happened on Saturday at the Rotsee, near the city of Lucerne. The Lucerne police therefore received several reports at around 6 p.m.
A 22-year-old man jumped upside down into the Rotsee at a stone footbridge – at a point where the water depth is only 1.1 meters. In the accident, he sustained life-threatening injuries, the police wrote in a message. The injured was recovered by colleagues in an unconscious state and was driven to the hospital by the emergency services.
The area of the Rotsee is a local recreation center, the bank areas are a nature reserve. Bathing is only allowed in the official bathing establishment. (bra)
