As Apple Mango Bingsu (Ae Mango Bingsu) became a hit in the hotel industry, the competition for the ‘second Mango Bing’ is fierce until the last minute of summer.

Recently, Shine Muscat shaved ice, which costs close to 100,000 won, has hit an all-time high price, but as more and more people are pursuing small luxury, there is a saying that ‘I can’t sell it because I don’t have it’.

According to the hotel industry on the 21st, the five-star hotel Chosun Palace Gangnam introduced shaved ice made with domestic Shine Muscat, the highest quality green grape variety.

A bowl of shaved ice costs 98,000 won. Although it is the most expensive shaved ice in the industry, it is sold out every day. In particular, as the limited edition of 20 bowls is sold every day, the rarity is attracting more customers.

An official from Chosun Palace Gangnam said, “To keep Shine Muscat fresh, we are only selling 20 bowls a day.”

A total of 5 Shine Muscats are used, 4 of which are juiced and ground into shaved ice, and the remaining one is added as a topping.

Since the shaved ice is equivalent to the price of a buffet at any hotel, reviews and photos such as “I ate it as if it was 3,000 won per grape” are pouring out on social media, increasing word of mouth among customers.

Before Shine Muscat bingsu, small luxury bingsu was popular with the Shilla Hotel in Seoul’s Aemangbing. Despite the high price of 64,000 won, this year, customers lined up to eat.

As people in their 20s and 30s enjoy expensive shaved ice for introductory holidays, the price of shaved ice is rising even more as they flock to hotels.

The Four Seasons Hotel in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, sells the same apple mango bingsu for 68,000 won, while Lotte Hotel in Busan sells apple mango bingsu with salted caviar and sturgeon roe for 69,000 won per bowl. Here at Chosun Palace Gangnam, 98,000 won of shaved ice was served. An official from the hotel industry said, “Competition between hotels through shaved ice is especially noticeable this summer.” “The summer is getting longer and hotter, so the battle for shaved ice using various fruits such as peaches, watermelons, and melons will continue until September.” looked forward
