[ワシントン 31日 ロイター] – The White House announced that US President Biden congratulated former leftist President Lula, who won the presidential election in Brazil, on the phone on the 31st.

The White House said they discussed the strong relationship between the United States and Brazil and committed to continuing to work together as partners to address common challenges.

Lula’s victory has boosted confidence in Brazil’s democratic system, State Department spokesman Price said Thursday. When asked if he was concerned about President Bolsonaro’s continued silence on the results of the runoff, he said that prominent figures in all political fields in Brazil respect the results of the runoff he made.
