Reuters reported on the 2nd (local time) that a parcel containing animal eyes had been delivered following the explosion of the letter two days ago at the diplomatic mission in Ukraine.

Oleg Nikolenko, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, said on Facebook that the parcels containing animal eyes soaked in a liquid with a unique color and fragrance were delivered to eight foreign diplomatic missions in Ukraine on the one day. These include embassies in Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Italy, consulates general in Naples, Italy and Krakow, Poland, and a consulate in Bruno, Czech Republic. “We are trying to find out the meaning of this message,” he said, adding that Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleva had ordered all diplomatic missions abroad to strengthen security.

Spokesman Nikolenko presented other cases where Ukrainian exiles were attacked in different places. According to him, the entrance to the Vatican embassy was damaged, and a source in the embassy in Rome said that human remains were placed in front of the door. He received a bomb threat from the embassy in Kazakhstan. The US embassy received a letter containing articles that were critical of Ukraine. Nikolenko also said that the letter was sent from a European country, like the letters recently found in Spain.

On the 30th of last month, a letter delivered to the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid, Spain exploded, injuring one employee. Spain’s Interior Ministry said letters similar to those delivered to the Ukrainian embassy were sent to Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, the Ministry of Defense, embassies and munitions factories before and after the incident, which were processed by the police and security teams. Spain believes the letters were sent from Spain and is investigating.

“Whoever is behind the attack will not be able to stop diplomats from working to make Ukraine strong and fight against a Russian invasion,” Kuleba said, urging Spain to investigate.
