[1日 ロイター] – Russian officials in the occupied city of Kherson in southern Ukraine said on Monday that they would expand the evacuation zone from the Dnipro river. He repeated claims that Ukraine could strike the Kakhovka dam and flood the area. Ukraine denies.

The Russian-appointed head of Kherson province, Vladimir Sard, said in a Telegram post that the evacuation order for civilians would be extended by 15 kilometers to include seven more settlements. He said he had “information that Ukraine is preparing a large-scale missile attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.”

The Ukrainian side said that Russia’s numerous claims that it was preparing to attack the dam were a sign that Russia was considering carrying out the attack itself and would blame Ukraine and its Western backers.

In recent weeks, Russia has evacuated tens of thousands of civilians from the western bank of the Dnipro River as Ukraine counter-attacks.
