Brazil in canary yellow, France in a blue shirt… The country’s identity is an ingredient in many shirts. The practice in football is to use the same color as the national flag as the main color of the shirt. This becomes clear if you look at the flag and shirt color of popular countries such as England, Argentina and Spain. The team that stands out here is the Netherlands. Their primary team kit is all orange with orange shots and a top. But what is included in their national flag? Red, white and blue colours. How did this orange color, which you can’t even get by inking the national flag, become the main color of the Dutch shirt?
