United States denies drone strikes in Ukraine Third drone attack on a Russian airport

US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln said the US had nothing to do with Ukraine’s drone strikes on Russian air bases.

Secretary Blincoln said at a joint press conference after the annual US-Australian Foreign and Defense Ministers meeting held in Washington DC yesterday (6th), “We have not encouraged or enabled Ukraine to attack inside Russia .”

“What is important is to understand what Ukrainians go through every day as a result of Russian aggression and our commitment to ensure they have the tools they need to defend themselves, their territory and their freedom,” he said.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin also said the US is “not working to prevent Ukraine from developing (capabilities) on its own.”

The comments came after an announcement in Russian that Ukrainian drones attacked two air bases in Ryazan and Saratov in south-central Russia on the 5th, killing three soldiers and damaging two planes.

Meanwhile, the ‘Reuters’ news agency reported today (7th) that there was a third drone attack on a Russian airport.

Officials in the Russian city of Kursk released pictures of black smoke coming from an airport in the city of Kursk, about 90 kilometers north of the Ukrainian border.

Local officials said an oil storage tank at the airport was engulfed in flames, but no one was injured.
