North Korea’s medium-range ballistic missiles overtake Japan’s… Fifth provocation in ten days

North Korea staged another armed protest three days after Armed Forces Day last Saturday (1st).
The missile launched by North Korea flew a whopping 4,500 km and flew over Japan for the first time in five years.
The level of North Korean armed provocations has grown even more intense.

North Korea has held five armed protests in the past ten days.
The missile launched in four days was not the previous short range, but an intermediate range ballistic missile, IRBM.
The flight range is about 4,500 km, the altitude is 970 km, and the speed is found to be Mach 17, so it is assumed to be a Hwasong-12 type.
It is said to have landed in the Pacific Ocean via Japan Airlines, but this is the first time in five years that a North Korean missile has passed through the Japanese archipelago.
The missile has a range of up to 5,500 km, which is more than reaching the US base in Guam, about 4,000 km from the launch site.
North Korea fired the same missile last January, but then, it was fired at a higher angle than this time and only fell into the East Sea.
This is why some are evaluating that North Korea has raised the level of armed provocations even further.
“I think it’s meaningful that we shoot a real range this time. We shot at a great distance, avoided it when US strategic assets were deployed, and these formulas are being broken now. “
The South Korean military emphasizes that while North Korea has recently formalized the development of its missile capabilities, it maintains a thorough posture of readiness.

We also held a joint US-ROK meeting to confirm that we would strengthen our joint defense posture.
“The launch of a ballistic missile by North Korea is a serious provocation that harms the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula as well as the international community, and is a clear violation of the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council,” he said.
Analysts say North Korea is testing various missiles ahead of its seventh nuclear test, which is why North Korea is continuing its recent armed protests.
